A Greater Cincinnati residential developer/builder has moved and expanded its headquarters in Newport.
Joshua One LLC has relocated its headquarters to Newport from Covington. The company purchased the 4,000-square-foot building at 223 E. Eighth St. in Newport and renovated it to fit its headquarters and design center. Joshua One was previously leasing 1,000 square feet of space in Covington. The cost of the building purchased and renovation was about $500,000.
Paul Zeltwanger, managing partner of Joshua One, said the new office gives the growing company the room it needed. Joshua One has been busy building out luxury living communities in Park Hills, Covington, Fort Thomas and Blue Ash, and was looking to stay centrally located. The building also has parking and easy access from the interstate.
“And we do have a view of downtown Cincinnati,” Zeltwanger told me. “It fits our branding around view communities and view properties.”
Zeltwanger said the space has a nice, urban feel to it. In addition to serving as its office space, the building also is the design center for Joshua One, where customers can make many of their selections for their homes. Joshua One’s subcontractors installed cabinets and plumbing fixtures in the space to show the products they are putting into people’s homes.
Joshua One currently has six employees, and Zeltwanger is looking to add a couple more by 2021.
Residential real estate, and new home construction, in particular, have rebounded strongly in Greater Cincinnati since the coronavirus slowed activity in the early spring. Joshua One, founded in 2005, has been working on site preparation for its Park Pointe development on a former Gateway Community & Technical College campus that straddles the Covington and Park Hills border.
Joshua One also is working in partnership with North American Properties and Greiwe Development Group on the One Highland luxury condominium development in Fort Thomas. And, it has built out Verandas @ the Views, a luxury condo development in Covington.
“We were fortunate throughout the coronavirus pandemic because a lot of our work was outside at the time, so we were allowed to keep going and in some cases accelerated and got a lot done,” Zeltwanger said.
Demand has been strong, Zeltwanger said, and he expects that to continue for the next two to three years. The company also has been getting a number of requests from people to build homes on hillside sites because the company has expertise in that type of building.
“We’re expanding in that area as well,” Zeltwanger said.
